REPORTS TO: Education Division Director

DEFINITION/PURPOSE: Instructor for high school age interns in the in the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Summer Youth Work Program.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
June 6 – July 08, 2011
Program interns attend Mon – Thurs, 9am – 4pm; staff, 8am – 5pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Instruct interns in a variety of activities and projects, e.g., critical thinking/problem solving, team building, and lifestyle skills;
• Transport interns to local work sites as needed;
• Evaluate intern progress;
• Collaborate with program staff and team teach/lead activities as needed;
• Chaperone on field trips.


SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEGE:
• Ability to work as a team member;
• Skills in working with high school students;
• Ability to instruct in individual and small group settings;
• Ability to assist students in special projects;
• Ability to work with and maintain positive communication with parents, and other staff;


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
1) Demonstrated success teaching high school age youth; Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field desirable; 2) Current Arizona driver’s license and able to meet FMYN insurance standards; 3) Must pass background check that includes fingerprinting; 4) Experience with Native American youth desirable, but not required.

The Chico News & Review, Chico's weekly alternative newspaper, is looking to hire a few eager writing interns for the spring semester. We offer a hands-on opportunity to gather the news, interview people, and tell good stories about our community. We ask 10-12 hours commitment each week and we do pay per published article.

We're looking for juniors or seniors with some journalism experience--either through taking several classes or by writing for the student newspaper (or both!). The Leadership Development Program (LDP) was created in 1996 to offer leadership opportunities to people interested in pursuing employment with Northwest Youth Corps or other similar outdoor pursuit programs in a leadership capacity. The first half of the program integrates team-based work projects, education, and on-site vocational training into a curriculum that stresses leadership growth, and the development of conservation work skills. Participants will develop hard skills working on conservation and recreation projects while developing the soft skills required to be a successful leader spanning a variety of disciplines. The second half of the program requires participants to work side by side with our Conservation Corps staff, providing hands on leadership experience with youth crews. The entire program's work, educational, and recreational activities will be linked by a unifying theme: "Outdoor Leadership".

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - minimum of a high school diploma. Additional background in outdoor recreation, environmental education, or resource management desirable. CPR and First Aid certification required.
Experience - Applications will be reviewed considering all past work experience, outdoor recreation background, or volunteer experience relevant to this position. Prior outdoor recreation experience, familiarity using hand tools is desirable. LDP members must be 20 years of age.
Physical condition - applicants must be in good physical condition and capable of working long hours on strenuous, labor intensive projects. Work projects often require heavy lifting, constant bending, digging, and extensive backcountry travel. Applicants must be able to backpack 12 miles and lift up to 50 lbs.

Hours: The Leadership Development Program is a residential program requiring long days, high energy, and love of challenge. The crew works up to 40 hours a week on a variety of projects and spends the evenings and weekends participating in and leading educational activities and recreational outings.

Therapist I/II/III (Colusa, CA) internships in chico USA

FILING DEADLINE
First review is Friday, February 18, 2011 by 5:00 p.m. the position will be open until filled.

DEFINITION Under the direction of the Director, this clinical position provides individual, family and/or group psychotherapy in a variety of clinical settings. The Therapist I is an entry level position, Therapist II is a journey level position and the Therapist III is the most experienced level. Cases and duties will be assigned based on the Therapist’s level of education and experience. There is one full time opening in the Mental Health Department and can be filled at any of the levels, depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant. A hiring list may be established to fill future vacancies.

SALARY

THERAPIST I $3,121.00 – $3,794.00 per month plus benefits
THERAPIST II $3,277.00 - $3,984.00 per month plus benefits.
THERAPIST III $3,613.00 - $4,392.00 per month plus benefits.

Full-time positions receive an additional in lieu benefit of $285.00 per month that is not included in the stated salary. Colusa County reimburses the full-time employee’s share of Social Security, so there is no net deduction for Social Security. Additional benefits are listed on the back of the flyer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: California Driver’s License

THERAPIST I:
• Completion of a minimum of one year in a Master’s program in counseling or a closely related field for a Marriage and Family Therapist. A Master’s degree is required for Social Work.
• Practicum experience as required by the specific Master’s program.
• Possession of or applied for registration as a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee or a Master’s degree in Social Work awaiting diploma with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

THERAPIST II:
• A Master’s degree in counseling, social work or a closely related field.
• Required practicum experience as required by the specific Master’s program.
• Possession of or applied for registration as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern or an Associate of Clinical Social Work with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

THERAPIST III:
• A Master’s degree in counseling, social work or a closely related field.
• Complete Clinical Supervision Training as authorized by the California Board of Behavioral Services when eligible.
• Two years post graduate related experience of increasing responsibility.
• Current registration as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
