Volunteer Opportunity with Stipend

The Maricopa County Democratic Party (MCDP) is building the grassroots power to create game changing results in Arizona. As a member of MCDP's Hope Corps program, you will on the ground, making a difference in local communities by registering new voters and signing up voters to vote by mail. Through door-to-door, neighbor-to-neighbor organizing, you will be a part of a team creating a coordinated effort that can change the electorate and win races up and down the ticket.

Arizona is a diverse and dynamic state, and this year's municipal races will be a stepping stone towards turning Arizona blue in 2012. Democrats can win in this traditionally red state by turning out Maricopa County with a concentrated door-to-door effort. We are building an empowered organization that will focus on targeted voter registration, party identification, and voter turnout. It is hard work, but Maricopa County is the key to changing Arizona.


A Hope Corps Volunteer will be responsible for being part of a team that goes door-to-door identifying new voters and new volunteers in targeted neighborhoods across the Valley. You will recruit volunteers, build relationships, and learn how to motivate voters around local issues.


• A commitment to Democratic politics,

• An ability to be outside and on your feet for six hours a day,

• Reliable transportation,

• Spanish language skills a plus.

Successful applicants will:

• Respect, empower, and include everyone, and anyone, who wants to be involved in the MCDP.

• Be self-motivated.

• Be able to motivate others.

• Have the desire and demonstrated ability to exceed expectations.

Duties & Oversight/Responsibilities:

• Five hours of door-to-door voter contact a day, plus meet-ups and trainings, Sunday through Thursday.

• Build relationships with volunteers and voters to build local neighborhood organizations.

• Accurately record conversations in the field and report to the MCDP Volunteer Coordinator.

• Act as a line of communication between communities and the Party.


Hope Corps Volunteers will receive a $300 weekly stipend.
