POSITION: Community Volunteer Coordinator (Part-time)

SCHEDULE: 24 hours per week -- Flexible schedule
Some hours within 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m. Monday -- Friday
Some hours required on evenings & weekends (approximately 20-30%)

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The basic purpose of Community Volunteer Coordinator is to support volunteers on the City's Commissions and implement selected projects and programs related to the Community Service Commission. In addition, the position coordinates the annual non-competitive grants, takes advantage of public educational campaign opportunities and manages a variety of community service contracts and special projects. • BA degree in Liberal Arts, Business, or other field related to public sector or government work, or the equivalent work experience in the public or non-profit sector.
• One year or more experience in a customer service or volunteer support position.
• Demonstrated experience in public speaking and/or oral presentations to groups.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
WORKING CONDITONS: ENVIRONMENT: Office environment, driving vehicle to conduct work at various sites. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Sitting and operating a keyboard to enter data into a computer terminal for extended periods of time, hearing and speaking to exchange information, physical ability to operate a motor vehicle, walking and standing at indoor office and outdoor sites.
