3d computer animator (Herndon, VA)

RSM Consulting is a management and training services company that has recently began to include 3d animated tutorials to our list of video products. These short 5 minute animated tutorial videos depict characters responding to high risk situations such as natural disasters and riots. We are looking for more 3d artists for a team that will help with some of our larger upcoming projects this November and December. We primarily use Maya and render with mental ray and are looking for people with the same skill set, but are willing to accept people who use 3ds Max or Cinema4d as long as obj files can be created to allow for transfer to and from Maya. If you are looking for an internship, or are a recent grad looking for experience/resume boost, then this is the ideal job for you. If you preform well, this contract job will most likely become full time with a substantial pay increase.

We are looking for someone with skills in some or all of the following areas: animating, modeling, rigging, lighting, rendering, texturing, uv mapping, and scene setup. Also, if you can blow us away with your talent in just one of these specific areas, then we want you. When it comes to being a 3d artist, exposure and making contacts is everything. With this job, your work will be seen by thousands of people all over the world and will be translated into many different languages. We require that you come into our Herndon, VA office to do your work, and it is preferred that you have your own computer and programs to bring and use. If the unpredictability of 3d freelance work is unappealing and you want the opportunity to have a steady 9-5 job doing what you love, then please send us a link to your demo reel, website, or online portfolio so that we may include you in our selection process.

Teaching English at a community centre (Buenos Aires)

Unlike giving classes in an English institute or bilingual school, a community center presents a distinct challenge. The adults and children who help at the community center often do so in order to eat at the food bank or because there is no space to study or even read or do homework in their own homes.
Many adults enjoy learning something that takes them away from their everyday problems and helps them feel that they are still able to learn new skills.
For this reason, the classes are not necessarily separated into ability levels. It depends on what time students can come to the center and whether they have work they need help with or if they just come to learn, the students are separated into groups and divided between the volunteers. Classes are overseen by a coordinator who organizes and knows all the students.
Volunteers Tasks:
-Helping the coordinators in preparing classes and workshops
-Getting students used to reading English and practising doing exercises with them
-Practicing pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, grammar and vocabulary
-Creating in some cases special workshops with themes suggested by the teacher or the volunteer themselves.
Please check out our website at http://www.voluntarioglobal.org/ for more information.

Volunteering in After-school Support Sessions in Primary School (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

The school where the project takes place is in a settlement in Villa 21. There are more than 40 children in each classroom and the children have problems learning and paying attention. What's more, there is the added difficultly that many of their parents do not know how to read or write and therefore cannot help them. They do not have adequate places in their homes to study and the majority live together in over-crowded houses, where studying is not an option.
Together with the coordinators, the volunteers have developed an after-school support program that takes place in a classroom/library dedicated exclusively to this project.
The teachers send the students that feel frustrated and are unable to advance in their studies to the after-school program, where the coordinators and volunteers personally help them study English or Maths, which are the subjects that the students have the most problems with.

Volunteers' tasks:
1. the most important thing is to be interested in listening and understanding the needs of the children, teaching them and giving them hope that they can learn.
2. Working on an almost one-to-one basis with each child in the programme is also important, following the guidance of the subject teachers and the exercise books.

Please check out our website at http://www.voluntarioglobal.org/ for more information on how to enroll in a program.

Spanish teacher (Seoul)

Recently I have moved to Seoul to find a job. I am open-minded, hard-working and I learn fast. I already have shown my ability for adapting new environment in other countries, and to work in group of different nationalities.
I am seeking for a job as a Spanish teacher or in the environmental science field in Korea for a challenging place where my personal skill, experience and education background can be applied and developed. My experience of living in other countries (Sweden, France) gave me a global point of view of education and it makes a good choice as a foreigner worker.
I have B2 visa, so the company who will want to hire me have to sponsorship my change of visa status. It takes 2 weeks and I just need the contract and a letter of recommendation.
I am interested in Engineer and Environmental careers. I moved to Salamanca for a bachelor of Environmental Science studies and there, I also started a new life living by myself. I understood that English is very important for a Science student so I tried to improve as much as possible. I participated in an Erasmus program in Sweden for 1 year. This experience gave me the opportunity to discover and learn from one of the most 'developed' and 'green' country in the world. Learning Swedish language and culture was also intriguing.
Thank you for reading my self-introduction and I wish to meet you through a personal interview.
Sincerely, Jaime Martin.
